Why We're Committed To Safeguarding Our Forests

Here at Goood, we love trees. In fact, we love them so much that we plant them for every order. Trees are one of the best natural weapons in the fight against climate change, and we're truly dedicated to helping to preserve and restore our global forests as part of our business practices.

From only using FSC-certified cardboard in our packaging, to offsetting the carbon we produce with tree-growing initiatives, we're committed to these awesome green machines. But why are trees so important?

They get rid of air pollution

Air pollution kills 4.6 million people a year (WHO), and trees are vital in helping to clean up our air. How? Trees catch nasty particulate matter with their leaves, and even absorb certain gases such as nitrous dioxide, meaning there are fewer pollutants in the air.

They make the planet cool

Not only do trees help to cool the earth through a process known as 'transpiration cooling', but they also absorb planet-warming carbon dioxide, helping to keep global temperatures lower! According to a recent study, tree cover can lower summer daytime temperatures by as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit (National Academy of Science).

They reduce greenhouse gases

New research has suggested that if we were to plant 1 trillion trees we could remove two-thirds of greenhouse gases from our atmosphere (Live Science). Trees are the cheapest way to tackle the climate crisis and as they grow they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating.

This is just a few reasons why we love trees!
